I. Common Bed Types in US Hotels

However, even once the bed type has been identified, procurement staff still need to confirm the actual length, width and thickness of the mattress. For fitted sheets, the thickness of the mattress is particularly important, as fitted sheets involve not only length and width but also the depth of the elasticated edge. If the mattress is thick and the fitted sheet lacks sufficient depth, the sheet may fail to fully encase the mattress or may slip off during use.
